BIO:

My career trajectory began 31 years ago with a 6th grade English class assignment for an on camera “video book report” in the middle school TV studio. I instinctively, I began mine with theme music and included a cutaway shot as I did my best to channel Tom Brokaw. Though doing all that seemed obvious to me, my teacher said no one had done that before in the history of the assignment.

Through a 21 year professional career, I’ve become a committed collaborator, adept at creating unscripted content, and sharing authentic stories captured from real people, not camera trained experienced individuals and actors. I’m equally at home taking high-quality videos from inception through delivery with my own hands or leading a team, sitting in the director’s chair in control room leading a crew from a production truck to capture a speaker-centric event or concert, or walking into an empty venue and turning it into a technically advanced space for an event or presentation.

Continuously refining my production intuition, natural curiosity, and passion for storytelling, I’ve built my career accomplishing productions, large and small, from conception through completion, both in collaboration with teams and crews of all sizes, and independently executing every step of a project myself.

Through in-house, agency, and freelance roles, I’ve had the unique opportunity to develop a broad, yet deep, skillset. I’m equally comfortable in a control room or production truck directing 2 cameras or 12 for a speaker-centric event or a concert, as I am creating video content in a studio or on location, as well as designing a set or event environment.

I’m accustomed to wearing many hats simultaneously (even though I look ridiculous in hats), while navigating and balancing competing interests, firm deadlines, brand standards, sacred cows, and egos. Employers, colleagues, and clients point to my adaptability, geek-to-human translation skills, and enthusiasm for tackling challenges others may avoid as what sets me apart from the herd. As does my ability to keep people at ease during their first time in front of a camera, as well as managing big personalities and high profile people, including CEOs, governors, entertainers, and company founders.

I thrive in environments that require moving back and forth between creative and technical duties; seamlessly moving among writing, researching, creative development, design, training, directing, running camera, navigating codecs, and maintaining organized file structures.

My diverse array of experiences make me successful coordinating with, translating for, and settling differences between, leadership, planning teams, venue staff, vendors, creative teams, audio engineers, lighting designers, video engineers, and security teams. Crew members often tell me I tend to bring out their best work.

Skilled with Adobe Premiere, Blackmagic Resolve, ProTools, After Effects, Photoshop, and many other software programs and platforms, I’m comfortable navigating the world of codecs and digitally delivering the final products.
